The first Olympic Games were held here back in 776BC. Even today, the flame for each Olympic Games is lit here in ancient Olympia. You can walk through the ruins where the athletes once trained and raced. Make time to visit the museum where you will see the ancient sculptures. There are daily trains and buses from Athens and it’s only an hour from Kalamata Airport and Patras Port.
